TheDead Sea Works is promoting/promoted aplan to harvest in the area of Tamarit.The objective of the plan is to clear salt deposits forthe purpose of operating the pool while restoring the historicalsweeping basin, mitigating damage and creatinga focal point for tourism.

Thesite is located south of Neve Zohar, near the confluence of several streamsflowing to the Dead Sea (Pool 5). Flowing fromthe south, there are the streams of Hemar,Lot, Idit, andSdom, andfrom the north is Zohar stream. The site can be viewed by travelers on Highway 90 heading south, aswell as from Nahal Zohar lookout point onHighway 31. At the beginning of the planning work, the site was covered inmultiple piles of dirt, pits, and remnants of temporary shelters.

The plan proposes a hikingtrail system from Highway 90 westward to the gas station and across from theentrance to Battery 5. Another plan for the rehabilitation of Nahal Hemar's streambed is being plannedfrom the west of Highway 90. The combination of both plans will create a hikingtrail system that includes an ecological rehabilitation of the Nahal Hemar streambed into onecomplete system.

The hiking trail will passbetween four hills that will be shaped on the basis of existing mounds. Some ofthe mounds will be covered with soil and vegetation, while others will becovered with salt. Three of the hills will have scenic lookout points facingthe Dead Sea pools and the mountains of Moab. Trails and beautiful parking lotswill be developed near each hill.

At the top of each lookoutpoint, steel corten structures will be builtin the future, including an eight-meter-diameter dome engraved with circles.
